Update #1

What's changed?

So far, not that much looks different. I've added a bit more U.I functionality, the game now can at least cycle from the main menu - to the game - and you can quit without having to Alt F4.

The main thing that has been added is that there is a fully functional leveling system, where each level gives you a slight upgrade - and each enemy will also equally scale with you level. Their damage will increase, and their health will increase too. The leveling system/the experience requirements for each level is pretty modular so it allows me to change it pretty easily if needed. A few basic common rifle variants have been added, and 2 new enemy variants have been added.

A few basic A.I behaviors have been modified as well - essentially the ranged enemies before could just shoot you from the opposite end of the map and stay still - so that has been updated so that they are required to be at least within the range of your screen.

I've also changed it so that the camera isn't as close to the player, making it feel a little less claustrophobic.

What's Next?

The next update will be pretty big. If you do want to be a part of any non-public releases, feel free to send me a message on Twitterso that I can opt you in for any private builds that get released.

For what is to be added next:

There is going to be the addition of actual art for enemies, the player, some weapons, better looking UI, and an actual level that isn't just a square. There will also be the addition of sounds, for any menus, a few gun sounds, enemy sounds, and things of that nature.

The next update will also include a slightly working corruption system and likely a couple abilities and additionally a couple of QoL things that will make the game a bit easier to read/understand. The next update will also allow me to revamp this page into an actual game page and open an early access build to the public. So basically, I still don't have a public and playable release for everyone, but will within the next update. Update 0.3 will not be public, but will have a few more working systems, just without the art - Update 0.4 will be public and have the art/sounds included.
